Investigations and Appeals – whistleblowing, disputes, discipline and grievance; independent appeal hearings, management and decisions
Complex cases can arise in organisations of any size. We offer independent expertise in workplace investigations and appeals.
We provide culturally sensitive, specialist support underpinned by integrity and the ability to rapidly assimilate into difficult situations.
Our aim is to conclude investigations swiftly and respectfully, maintaining the dignity of all involved.
An independent investigation is often required in cases where internal resource is stretched, when an independent view is required or specialist investigation is called for due to case complexity.
Successful projects include Public Interest Disclosures (whistleblowing), misconduct, fraud, inappropriate behaviour, discrimination, capability, theft, relationship breakdowns and breaches of contact, across SME, PLC and charity environments.
We work alongside you, with expertise built up over multiple cases, bringing skills in finding key facts and evidence, honed in the environment of employment tribunal panels. Our approach is thorough and unbiased.
Often an employer has to follow a process for dealing with grievances, disciplinaries, capability cases or dismissals, which result in an appeal from the employee involved. Appeals, if appropriately handled, offer an opportunity review, or where necessary, rehear decisions, providing an opportunity to either reinforce decisions or to take corrective action to avoid disputes or tribunal cases.
We provide appeal support in a number of ways, either sitting as part of an Appeal panel, acting as Chair or Hearing decision maker, or providing professional guidance to internal staff managing appeals themselves.
Our unbiased, forensic approach to dealing with appeals provides the best defence against future claims, but wrapping the prevailing law around the case details and forging decisions which reinforce fair processes and correct both substantive and procedural issues in previous processes.
Where employees allege poor treatment or bias by their employers, we can provide the neutrality and professional skill to manage the process of dealing with appeals to their conclusion.
